Professor Muhammad Shuja Tahir started his writing carrier as a student of MBBS. He published a weekly college newspaper during late 1960’s.

He helped in proof reading and copy editing of a medical journal of Ayub Medical College, Abbotabad.

He has thirty(30) years teaching experience in surgery as a senior teacher. He is author of eight books of surgery. He has been conducting surveys and research on methods of medical teaching and evaluation. His main interests are creative learning, teaching and objective administration.

He is tutor of Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh for surgical training of post graduates in Pakistan.

He is also member of panel of examiners of MRCS and FRCS examination, Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh, United Kingdom.

He is examiner of College of Physicians and Surgeons Pakistan for FCPS surgery.

He is founder editor of international medical journal “The Professional” based at Faisalabad.
